What is on the other side of your Valentine’s Day heartbeat for customers and clients?
On Valentine’s Day workplaces all over America have something to sell us to prove our “love.†What would happen if the true beginning of Valenine’s day was acknowledged – you know: “On the eve of his death, Valentinus wrote a last note to Julia, a young, blind girl – knowing his execution was imminent. He quickly jotted a farewell note which he signed: “From Your Valentine.â€
What would happen if, instead of cashing in on Valentine’s Day we remembered the first one and gave special attention and gratitude to the people who have done business with us – customer’s and client’s could have an uplifting moment rather than being ask to fork over another dollar. What could happen could be real gratitude and a reciprocally better relationship whose heartbeat is now focused to what really matters most in every moment as each of us plods through business and life… love. The short-term allure of the shiny beads and shallow flattery of lust, that is, “Be My Valentine†candy, dinners, flowers, sex would be lost in the eventual dissatisfaction with lust to be gratefully forgotten. In place of shiny beads and shallow flattery would be fulfilled needs and meaningful communication. So, what is on the other side of your next heartbeat on this Valentine’s Day?
