There is just one more thing…

Pseudo adults, that is, high school teens, can be mentored to a rock-solid discernment  tool: understand that there is always at least one more reality or piece of information in every person’s situation about which we know nothing.  This thinking tool can prevent a life-long habit of having a measuring stick for other people rarely applied to ourselves in the same way.  Hummm  while mentoring this to teens, adults could grab it, too?!  Be a StrengthBank® Talk Group Mentor!

“Let’s Agree to Disagree” – An often overlooked relationship breaker.

When the “solution” to a difference is to “agree to disagree,” a principle and a relationship have been compromised. When an issue is at hand and we are debating it, there is also some principle at hand. Grow up or Go Away – If you won’t engage in conversation, we do not need you at work or in a personal relationship.

Leadership or corporate business competence is not about age attained or expertise; it is about the vulnerability factor. True leaders, people our kids can look up to and we can learn from are consistent in their personal lives to what they are in their business lives. They are not hiding the ugliness of control freaks who have personal relationships that you and I would readily see as unseemly, to say the least. (more…)
